Weekend Market Tour

Tour at a glance:

This tour will offer tourists fond memories of experiencing daily life of ethnic minority, viewing the natural beauty and exploring special markets held by local hill tribes. Can Cau market and Bac Ha market are the tow biggest markets in this region. Once visitors come here, they will be attracted by colorful clothing of the local as well as the specialties of this mountainous town.

Tour Itinerary

Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai

In the evening, the tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel around 20:00 and transfer to Hanoi railway station to catch the night train to Lao Cai.

Day 1: Lao Cai – Can Cau – Bac Ha (Saturday) (B/L/D)

Arrival early in the morning, our local guide and car will pick up for breakfast and then transfer to Can Cau market - a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains. Enjoy seeing boys and girls in colorful costumes - different colours of the mountains.
Leave Can Cau market and transfer to Bac Ha. On the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower H’Mong. Arrive in Bac Ha and check in hotel.

Day 2: Bac Ha – Sapa (Sunday) (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit the huge Bac Ha Market where is always a riot of colorful costumes with the ethnic people: Flower H’Mong, Dao Tuyen and Phu La. All get together here to buy and sell their products.

After visiting market, visit the H’Mong Kings house (King Hoang A Tuong). Visit another Ban Pho village before going to Sapa. Stop over for see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbor Mouth in Lao Cai.

Day 3: Sapa (B/L/D)

Check out hotel and start a trekking trip towards Muong Hoa valley to visit 4 villages of the H’Mong, the Dzay people (17km of trekking). Enjoy beautiful landscapes, terraced paddy fields. Experience the daily life of minorities. Have dinner and spend a night at the family.

Overnight home-stay in the village.

Day 4: Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B/L/D)

Leave the village early (at 6:30 AM) for Coc Ly market where colorful ethnic people meet to sell and buy their products. Enjoy the peaceful life of 6 different minority people: Flower H’Mong, Black Dzao, Tay Dzay, Ha Nhi and Nung.

Continue on to take a boat trip along Chay River and visit the Flower H’Mong, Trung Do village and Bao Nhai town before driving to Lao Cai. Then take the night train to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi the next morning.

  • Transfer from the hotel to Hanoi Railway station
  • Bus Lao Cai – Sapa – Lao Cai
  • Return train tickets Hanoi – Lao Cai – Hanoi (Soft sleeper with A/C – 4 persons in one cabin)
  • 2 nights at hotels in Sapa and Bac Ha
  • 1 night home-stay in the village

  • Hotel in Sapa: Bamboo Sapa Hotel or Chau Long
  • If you like to take the fireplace, please pay extra:  6USD/room/fireplace
  • Pick you up at your hotel at 8:00PM
  • Please take your passport to check in hotel.
